Santosh Dubey testifies before SIT in Ayodhya Ram Temple chadhawa theft case

On July 12, the Special Investigation Team (SIT) questioned Santosh Dubey, head of the Dharm Seva organization, regarding the alleged theft of more than 1,200 ram‑stone idols (chadhawa) from the Ayodhya Ram Temple site. Dubey said he provided the SIT with all information he possessed and offered to submit additional documents.

He asserted that the missing idols had been taken earlier and that the case had exposed wrongdoing by people linked to the temple trust. Dubey demanded that an FIR be filed against him for any false statements, urged the removal of the stigma attached to his organization, and complained that a planned press conference was halted. He announced that he would appear again on July 23 to provide further details to the investigators.
