SANY and FMT Türkiye launch electric vehicle production venture

SANY and FMT Türkiye have officially launched a new venture aimed at establishing Turkey as a production hub for electric commercial vehicles serving Europe and Central Asia. The project began with an initial investment of $50 million, which is intended to grow to $500 million over the next five years.

The production operations will be centered at a 26,000-square-meter Integrated Production and Operation Center located in the Ankara ASO 2nd Organized Industrial Zone. The company plans to introduce eight different vehicle models to the Turkish market by the end of 2027. Within five years, the facility aims to reach an annual production capacity of 30,000 units to support export goals.

During field tests, electric trucks demonstrated energy cost savings of over 80% compared to diesel vehicles. General Manager Fatih Bilgen noted that the SANY E636, the first model to be assembled in Turkey, offers a range of between 450 and 600 kilometers depending on usage conditions.
