Saori Yoshida to make major solo music debut
Former Japanese women's wrestling representative Saori Yoshida is set to make her major solo music debut with the release of the single ‘I’m Here’ on October 28. The release is through Tokuma Japan Communications.
Yoshida, a highly decorated athlete who won three consecutive Olympic gold medals (Athens 2004, Beijing 2008, and London 2012) and achieved 16 consecutive world titles, will transition into music as a solo artist. The single includes the title track ‘I’m Here’ and ‘Kachi ni Iku, Ima’, both featuring lyrics written by Yoshida. The release will be available in two formats: a first-press edition priced at 4,200 yen, which includes a ‘challenge charm’ (chosen omamori), and a regular edition priced at 1,700 yen.
To celebrate the debut, release events are scheduled for October 29 in Ikebukuro, Tokyo, and November 3 in Nagoya, Aichi. Additionally, original merchandise, including a ‘Saori Yoshida: Going to Win! Daruma’ doll, will be released at a later date.
