SAP expands AI capabilities with Joule Work and TechWolf acquisition
SAP is expanding its artificial intelligence capabilities through the launch of ‘Joule Work’ and the announcement of a planned acquisition of the Belgian AI provider TechWolf.
At the SAP Connect conference, the company introduced Joule Work, a new interface designed to integrate AI directly into user workflows. The rollout for all customers is scheduled for October, with the goal of providing more than 400 ‘Joule Agents’ by the end of the year. SAP anticipates productivity gains of over 20 percent in areas such as finance, procurement, and human resources.
In a strategic move toward ‘Autonomous HCM’ (Human Capital Management), SAP has agreed to acquire TechWolf to enhance its automation of personnel processes. The transaction is expected to close in the fourth quarter of 2026, subject to customary closing conditions and regulatory approvals. Additionally, SAP is introducing ‘SAP Pay’ to integrate payment functions directly into cloud ERP processes and is expanding partnerships for supply chain and risk analysis.
