SAP introduces Autonomous Enterprise framework and Joule Work AI

At SAP Sapphire 2026, SAP introduced the Autonomous Enterprise framework, designed to integrate artificial intelligence into the core of business operations. The framework aims to shift the role of employees from process operators to leaders of judgment, strategy, and change.

A key component of this transition is Joule Work, SAP’s reimagined AI engagement layer. This tool allows employees to use plain language to orchestrate workflows and manage tasks, such as filling headcounts or managing time-off backlogs, rather than manually navigating multiple systems. The goal is to move from task-based navigation to intent-driven interaction, reducing operational friction and allowing workers to focus on creative problem-solving and decision-making.
