SAPA Placencia net profit nearly quintuples in 2025
SAPA Placencia, a Basque defense company specializing in mobility systems and transmissions for military vehicles, reported a net profit of 14.11 million euros for 2025. This represents a nearly fivefold increase compared to the 2.89 million euros recorded in the previous year.
The significant profit growth was driven by extraordinary income of 33.74 million euros resulting from the sale of an 8.3% stake in Tess Defence to Indra. Following this transaction, Indra holds control of Tess Defence, which also includes partners Santa Bárbara Sistemas and Escribano Mechanical & Engineering. SAPA Placencia retains a 16.3% stake in the consortium.
While total revenue rose by 13.89% to 76.75 million euros, the company's operating profit (EBIT) fell by 81.11% year-on-year to 2.45 million euros. The company noted progress in international programs, including the XM30 and Abrams programs in the United States, and the execution of contracts for 8x8 wheeled vehicle propulsion groups. Additionally, its subsidiary, Sapa Transmission, acquired real estate in Shelby Township, Michigan, for approximately 2.5 million euros to support its research and manufacturing operations.
