The 25th International Sapanca Poetry Evenings have commenced in Sakarya, organized by the Sakarya Metropolitan Municipality. The event, held at the Adapazarı Cultural Center, brings together 25 poets from Turkey and five other countries: Bulgaria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Greece, Kosovo, and Macedonia.

The multi-day program includes poetry readings, panels, signing sessions, and meetings with high school students. The opening featured a musical performance titled ‘Şiir Nağmeler’ by santur artist Sedat Anar, who combined musical melodies with poetic narration.

Alpay Şirin, Head of the Culture and Social Affairs Department, emphasized the importance of connecting youth with literature and art. Former Sakarya Deputy Mustafa İsen noted that over 500 poets have participated in the event throughout its 25-year history, highlighting its significant impact on the local culture.
