Sapanca traffic crash kills Mahmut Yuşa Gül, camera footage released

A collision occurred on Sakarya Caddesi in Uzunkum Mahallesi, Sapanca district, Sakarya Province, when a 24‑year‑old driver of a 54 AOK 633 automobile attempted to overtake a 20‑year‑old motorcyclist, Mahmut Yuşa Gül, who was riding a 54 APC 660 motorcycle. The car violated traffic rules, striking the motorcycle. Both riders were injured; Gül’s front wheel detached and he was thrown from the bike. He died despite emergency medical treatment, while the car driver was treated and released.

Security‑camera recordings released by police show the traffic violation that caused the crash. Gül, who was scheduled to begin military service three days later, was buried after an afternoon prayer at Karapürçek district. The investigation into the accident remains ongoing.
