Italian government approves €106 million refinancing for Adriatic ports
The Interministerial Committee for Strategic Sectors (CIPESS) gave a positive opinion on a refinancing plan of €106 million for the Autorità di Sistema Portuale del Mare Adriatico Centrale (AdSp). The funds, allocated under the 2022 inter‑ministerial decree (MIMS‑MEF n. 52), are part of a €357.6 million port‑infrastructure fund.
The financing will support seven strategic projects in the ports of Ancona, Ortona and Pesaro, including deepening the basin of berth 26, partial demolition of the North pier, dredging works, reinforcement of the Clementino pier for cruise ships, and upgrades to the Riva quay, Martello pier and a new filling basin in Pesaro. Vice‑minister Edoardo Rixi announced the approval during a visit to Ancona, and AdSp president Mirco Carloni highlighted the joint effort of the ministries and regional authorities to advance the port system’s growth.
