Sapienza University students occupy Faculty of Letters and Philosophy

Students at Sapienza University in Rome have occupied the Faculty of Letters and Philosophy to protest university funding cuts, the rising cost of living, and international military spending. The collective 'Osa' stated that the mobilization is part of a broader movement among youth across Europe and Italy.

Protesters are linking their actions to a general strike called by the Unione Sindacale di Base for October 30. Key grievances include the perceived prioritization of military spending over social services, healthcare, and education, as well as the increasing cost of essential goods and housing. The occupation occurs while the university is conducting a runoff election for the rector position.
