Sapri and Gerace host cultural and historical events

Sapri has opened selections for a historical reenactment of the landing of Carlo Pisacane, a significant event of the Italian Risorgimento. The municipality is seeking 46 participants to form a historical procession, including roles for ladies, nobles, gendarmes, and commoners to accurately recreate the 19th-century atmosphere.

In Gerace, the Convento dei Cappuccini is reopening to cultural events after approximately forty years. The venue will host ‘Respiri mediterranei – Storie e canti di Sirene, Ninfe e regine del mare’ on August 20, 2026. This musical and theatrical performance features contralto Francesca Ascioti and the Enea Barock Orchestra, focusing on Mediterranean mythological figures through 17th-century Italian opera and cantata.
