Saprissa faces key player suspensions for Copa Centroamericana quarterfinals

Saprissa will face significant roster challenges in the first leg of their Copa Centroamericana quarter-final series against Cartaginés. Midfielders Mariano Torres and Sebastián Acuña are both suspended for the match due to the accumulation of two yellow cards during the group stage.

Torres received his second booking during a 2-1 loss to Olimpia of Honduras after protesting a referee's decision. Acuña was cautioned for a foul without the ball. Saprissa coach Hernán Medford noted he was initially unaware of the specific disciplinary situation regarding Torres but expressed confidence in the remaining squad.

Despite these absences, Saprissa will see the return of Cuban player Luis Javier Paradela, who is available following a three-game suspension.
