Saprissa president seeks to invite young fan following goalkeeper's jersey gift

Saprissa president Roberto Artavia is calling on fans to help locate a young boy, Dereck Granados Salas, after a heartwarming interaction with goalkeeper Abraham Madriz. Following a match in Puntarenas, Madriz embraced the boy and gifted him his jersey, a gesture that deeply moved the child and his family.

Dereck’s mother, Dejenany Salas, shared that the eleven-year-old football enthusiast considers the jersey a treasure. Artavia expressed his desire to invite the boy and his family to the club’s upcoming match against Cartaginés, offering them the opportunity to visit the stadium, known as ‘La Cueva’.

According to his mother, the encounter significantly improved the boy's mood after a difficult day. The club president noted that the gesture has effectively gained Saprissa a lifelong supporter.
