Saputo appoints new directors and posts higher 2026 earnings

Saputo Inc. held its annual shareholders meeting on August 7, 2026 in Montréal, where 11 board nominees were elected by ballot. All candidates received overwhelming support, with vote‑for percentages ranging from 96.4% to 99.5%.

For fiscal 2026, the dairy processor reported adjusted EBITDA of C$1.66 billion, a 10.4% increase year‑over‑year, and net income from continuing operations rose 18% to C$751 million. Revenue fell 1.5% to C$17.55 billion due to lower U.S. dairy prices, but higher volumes and price gains in cheese and dairy‑ingredients offset the decline. The board raised the quarterly dividend by 5% to C$0.21 per share, repurchased 19.2 million shares for about C$679 million, and lowered net‑debt‑to‑EBITDA to 1.47×, below its long‑term target. Saputo said it will focus on protein‑rich product growth and pursue accretive acquisitions in fiscal 2027.
