Saquisilí organizers seek security coordination with Cotopaxi authorities

Ramiro Arcos, president of the Committee for the Festivities of the Most Holy Virgin of Quinche, is seeking coordination with new authorities in Cotopaxi to ensure security for upcoming celebrations in Saquisilí. The festivities are scheduled to take place between January 3 and February 13, 2027.

Arcos met with the Cotopaxi Governor's office to establish a dialogue with the Governor, the Political Chief, and the General Police Superintendency. The goal is to provide authorities with early notice of the programming to ensure adequate security presence and prevent disturbances during events organized by neighborhoods, guilds, and transport cooperatives. Arcos also expressed concerns regarding the need for permanent police presence and the importance of adhering to authorized schedules and legal frameworks.
