Sara Beram reaches European Boxing Championships quarterfinals

Croatian boxer Sara Beram has advanced to the quarterfinals of the European Boxing Championships in Sofia. Competing in the 65kg category, Beram secured a 5-0 unanimous decision victory over the top seed, Sacha Hickey of England.

Beram, a recent Mediterranean Games gold medalist, will face Russia's Azalila Amineva in the quarterfinals for a chance at a semifinal spot and a guaranteed medal.

In other results, Antonio Grabić secured a place in the quarterfinals of the 85kg category following a 5-0 victory against Czechia's Daniel Komarek. Grabić is scheduled to face Italian champion Marvin Ghilarducci. Meanwhile, Fabijan Tomkić was eliminated in the 70kg category after a second-round stoppage loss to Azerbaijan's Nabi Isgandarov.
