Sara Carbonero discusses business growth and past sexism

Journalist and entrepreneur Sara Carbonero has expanded her fashion business, Slowelove, with the opening of a new store in Valencia alongside partner Isabel Jiménez.

In recent reflections, Carbonero addressed the sexism she experienced during the 2010 World Cup in South Africa, specifically citing media coverage that suggested her presence could destabilize her then-partner, Iker Casillas. She noted that while the professional impact was debated at the time, the treatment she received was excessive.

Carbonero also spoke about her personal life, including the recent passing of her mother, Goyi Arévalo, from ovarian cancer. She shared that she continues to find strength through family milestones, such as her nephew’s recent baptism, while navigating the grief of her loss.
