Sara Duterte leads hypothetical 2028 presidential race in new survey

A recent National Momentum Survey conducted in August 2026 indicates that Vice President Sara Duterte is the preferred presidential candidate for Filipino adults in a hypothetical 2028 election. Duterte holds 45.8% of the vote, followed by former Vice President Leni Robredo at 19.5% and Senator Raffy Tulfo at 13.3%. Her support is most concentrated in Mindanao, where she maintains a 78.1% preference.

In hypothetical two-way matchups, Duterte leads Robredo across most regions, including Metro Manila and Visayas, though Robredo maintains a lead in the Rest of Luzon.

Separately, the survey reveals that 52% of registered voters do not regret the dissolution of the UniTeam alliance between President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and Vice President Duterte. However, 68% of voters believe the ongoing political conflict between the two leaders has weakened the country, a sentiment particularly strong in Mindanao. Regarding governance, 52% of respondents expressed optimism that the next generation of political leaders and citizens will significantly reduce corruption in the Philippines.
