Sara Isabelle Ispas wins Città di Vittorio Veneto violin competition
Sara Isabelle Ispas, a 22-year-old Romanian violinist, won the grand prize at the 34th edition of the “Città di Vittorio Veneto” violin competition. The final took place on August 29 at the “Lorenzo Da Ponte” Municipal Theatre in Italy.
During the final performance, Ispas played Tchaikovsky’s Violin Concerto in D major, op. 35, accompanied by the Orchestra del Teatro La Fenice under the direction of Alessandro Ferrari. The jury awarded her the top prize unanimously, which includes an 8,000 euro award and opportunities to perform at major European cultural institutions such as Teatro La Scala in Milan and La Fenice in Venice.
Romania also secured a place on the podium, with 19-year-old Mihai Mangir finishing in third place. The competition was organized by the Municipality of Vittorio Veneto in collaboration with the Centro Teatrale Da Ponte, featuring an international jury led by Fabio Vacchi.
