Sara Kolak prepares for European Athletics Championships

Olympic javelin champion Sara Kolak is preparing to compete in her fifth European Athletics Championships in Birmingham. As the only member of the Croatian delegation with major championship medals, Kolak carries significant responsibility in the absence of discus thrower Sandra Elkasević.

Kolak expressed confidence in her preparation, noting that while her recent results have been inconsistent, her training and recent performances in Ostrava have provided a positive outlook. She emphasized the importance of managing pressure and the specific challenges of the championship format, which requires qualifying through only three attempts.

Kolak will be joined in Birmingham by junior athlete Vito Barbić, the recent world U-19 vice-champion.
