Rallye du Maroc 2026 begins with Daniel Sanders winning motorcycle prologue

The 2026 Rallye du Maroc, the fourth round of the FIA-FIM World Rally-Raid Championship (W2RC), has officially commenced in Agadir, Morocco. The event features a demanding course of approximately 2,524 kilometers, including five competitive stages, and will conclude on October 3 in Zagora.

In the motorcycle category, Daniel Sanders of KTM won the 18-kilometer prologue in Agadir with a time of 10:58.4, marking KTM’s fourth consecutive prologue victory this season. Other notable performers in the prologue included Edgar Canet in second place and Ricky Brabec in third. Argentine rider Luciano Benavides secured fourth place, while Ignacio Cornejo of Hero MotoSports also completed the opening session with a strong performance.

In the car category, the Dacia Sandriders team enters the rally leading all three championship standings: Manufacturers, Drivers (with Sébastien Loeb), and Navigators (with Édouard Boulanger). The team aims for a third consecutive victory in Morocco. Competitors like Nasser Al-Attiyah and Seth Quintero are also positioned to challenge the Dacia dominance as the championship moves toward its final rounds.
