Saraburi flash floods trigger rescues in Thailand

Flash floods triggered by heavy rainfall caused significant disruption in the Saraburi province of Thailand, specifically affecting the Kaeng Khoi and Muak Lek districts.

In the Muak Lek district, floodwaters swept a pickup truck off a weir in the Ban Mak community, carrying it into the Muak Lek Canal. Three individuals were trapped inside the vehicle but were successfully rescued by locals and officials. In the Kaeng Khoi district, heavy rains caused water to surge through a resort in the Cha-om subdistrict, leaving tourists stranded. The village headman and local officials evacuated the guests to a safe location.

The Saraburi Provincial Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Office coordinated response efforts and remains on standby. Authorities have advised residents and tourists in low-lying areas, near streams, and on hillsides to remain vigilant due to the ongoing monsoon season, which increases the risk of flash floods and landslides.
