Saracens and Cornish Pirates prepare for pre-season rugby friendly

Saracens and Cornish Pirates are set to face each other in a pre-season rugby friendly at the Mennaye Field. The match features Saracens' first matchday squad selection in 11 years under director of rugby Brendan Venter.

Saracens' lineup includes several new signings and returning players, such as Toby Knight, who is returning from a long-term knee injury, and Olamide Sodeke. The squad will test various combinations, including new signing Alfie Barbeary and debutant Fraser Rawlins.

Cornish Pirates joint head coach Alan Paver expressed a desire for his team to finish their pre-season strongly. The Pirates, led by captain Alex Everett, will feature guest players Josh Matavesi and Jon Drew on the bench. The event is expected to be a sell-out crowd in West Cornwall.
