The Nine Network has announced that Sylvia Jeffreys and Tom Steinfort will become the permanent co-hosts of the Today Show starting in 2027. The new lineup follows the departure of long-time hosts Karl Stefanovic and Sarah Abo.

Sarah Abo confirmed she will not return to the program following her maternity leave, stating that becoming a mother has heralded a “new chapter” for her. Jeffreys, who has been covering parental leave, expressed excitement about the new era, noting that she and Steinfort intend to work hard to carry on the work of their predecessors.

The announcement was part of Nine’s 2027 Upfront presentation, which detailed the network's programming strategy across various platforms including Channel 9, 9Now, and Stan. The hosting changes come after a period of transition for the breakfast program, which had previously utilized various guest hosts.
