Sarah Adlington leads Scotland judo team for Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games
Sarah Adlington, the first judoka to win two Commonwealth Games gold medals, will compete for a third as the captain of Scotland's judo squad at the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games. She joins 12 debutants, making up a 13‑athlete team that will contest the competition from 31 July to 2 August at the SEC Centre. The squad includes veteran Scott Cusack, whose parents Loretta and Billy both medalled for Scotland in 1990, and young prospects such as 18‑year‑old Eva Ewing and 21‑year‑old Sunny Doge. Olympic‑level achievements referenced include Adlington’s gold at Birmingham 2022 and the team’s record haul at Glasgow 2014. Team Scotland’s Chef de Mission Elinor Middlemiss praised the mix of experience and new talent, noting the event as a fitting finale for Adlington’s career.
