Sarah Adwoa Safo announces bid for Dome-Kwabenya seat

Former Member of Parliament Sarah Adwoa Safo has announced her intention to contest the New Patriotic Party (NPP) parliamentary primaries for the Dome-Kwabenya constituency ahead of the 2028 general elections.

In a statement released on October 22, 2026, Safo noted that her decision followed extensive consultations with party leadership, executives, and stakeholders. She previously indicated an intention to pursue opportunities outside the constituency but stated that deeper reflection reinforced her desire to represent the interests of the area's constituents.

Safo, who served as the constituency's MP for 12 years and previously held a position as Deputy Majority Leader, cited her increasing electoral performance in previous polls as a foundation for her comeback. She intends to formally present herself for consideration once the party releases the official timetable and guidelines for the primaries.
