Sarah Connor advocates for marine life and criticizes zoo captivity

Singer Sarah Connor has used her social media platforms to advocate for animal rights, specifically targeting the captivity of marine life. While vacationing in Italy, Connor expressed her support for an upcoming large-scale demonstration against zoos scheduled for October 4, 2026, at the Brandenburg Gate in Berlin. The protest, held in observance of World Animal Protection Day, aims to highlight the needs of endangered species and the importance of species-appropriate living conditions.

Connor specifically criticized the aquariums at Zoo Duisburg and Tiergarten Nürnberg, stating, “Stop it, there is no species-appropriate captivity for dolphins in captivity.” The singer has a long history of marine conservation efforts, including co-founding the Iberian Orca Guardians Foundation in 2024 to protect endangered orcas.
