Sarah El Haïry supports 3018 helpline in fight against sextortion
Sarah El Haïry, the High Commissioner for Children, is visiting the Paris offices of the Association e-Enfance to support the 3018 national helpline. This initiative aims to highlight the work of the service, which provides assistance to young victims of harassment and cyberviolence.
The visit coincides with a government campaign launched on September 25 to combat sextortion—a form of digital blackmail where individuals are threatened with the release of intimate images to extort money or favors. The 3018 service acts as a ‘trusted signaler’ for major social media and gaming platforms, allowing for the removal of harmful content within hours. This movement occurs alongside legislative efforts in the National Assembly to strengthen protections for women and children against sexual and gender-based violence.
