Sarah Engels' Eurovision entry 'Fire' tops streaming charts across Europe despite low contest placing

GfK Entertainment’s analysis of paid and ad‑supported streaming data from 15‑17 May 2026 shows that Sarah EngelsEurovision Song Contest entry “Fire” performed strongly on European platforms even though it finished near the bottom of the live show. In Germany the track ranked second only to Bulgarian winner Dara, while in Austria it trailed three other contest songs. Switzerland placed it sixth, Italy eleventh, Belgium and the Netherlands fourteenth, and Portugal sixteenth, all within the ESC‑related top‑20.

Overall, Dara’s winning song “Bangaranga” and the Bulgarian entry were the most streamed in seven of the nine surveyed markets. Only France and Italy saw their own national entries exceed the ESC songs. In the host country Austria, Eurovision songs accounted for roughly one‑fifth of the overall streaming top‑100.

The data highlights the disconnect between live‑show voting results and subsequent audience listening habits, underscoring the continued commercial relevance of Eurovision tracks across multiple European streaming markets.
