Sarah Engels' management accused of pressuring journalist over Eurovision interview
After the Eurovision Song Contest final, journalist Sonja Riegel claimed the management of German participant Sarah Engels pressured her to delete video clips of an interview in which Engels said she was not feminist. Riegel said the managers demanded the removal of the snippets, accused her of generating negative coverage and warned that her actions could jeopardise Germany's entry.
Riegel also reported that the management raised a prior video showing Engels promoting her song with schoolchildren in South Africa, which had drawn criticism for alleged white‑saviorism. The dispute led to the journalist being excluded from a subsequent press briefing.
The allegations highlight tension between the artist’s team and a media reporter covering the contest.
