Czech actress Sarah Haváčová has sparked a heated social media debate following her public comments regarding the war in Ukraine and the security threats posed by the Russian Federation. Haváčová emphasized that Czech citizens have a responsibility to support Ukraine, stating, “The war in Ukraine is [happening]. We must stand behind it and help it, because security is terribly important.” She warned that if Ukraine falls, the threat could reach the borders of the Czech Republic sooner than expected.

Her statements drew sharp criticism from fellow actress Alice Bendová, who questioned the authenticity of the message, suggesting it sounded like it was generated by artificial intelligence. Bendová characterized the delivery as “pressure and scaring,” arguing that while aid is necessary, it should not compromise the security of the Czech Republic or its citizens.

In response to the criticism, comedian Adéla Elbel defended Haváčová, leading to further friction between the public figures.
