Sarah Hirini re-signs with Black Ferns Sevens through 2028
Rugby veteran Sarah Hirini has re-signed with the Black Ferns Sevens, extending her professional contract through the end of 2028. The announcement comes four months after the birth of her son, Masaru.
With this extension, the 33-year-old will enter her 16th season, making her New Zealand Rugby’s longest-serving current professional women’s rugby player. Hirini has previously captained the Black Ferns Sevens to three Olympic medals and expressed her ambition to compete in a potential fourth Olympic Games in Los Angeles.
