Sarah J. Maas announces new ACOTAR series arc

Author Sarah J. Maas has revealed details regarding the next phase of her A Court of Thorns and Roses (ACOTAR) series, which will be titled ‘The Valkyrie Cycle’. Moving away from traditional book formats, the new narrative will be structured into four parts, referred to as ‘movements’.

The sixth installment, ‘A Court of Splintered Harmony: The Valkyrie Cycle, Movement I’, is scheduled for release on 27 October 2026. This will be followed by ‘A Court of Forgotten Melody’, which will encompass ‘Movement II’ and ‘Movement III’, slated for release on 12 January 2027. The final segment, ‘Movement IV’, will form the eighth book in the series and is currently being written.

Maas shared these details during an appearance on the ‘Call Her Daddy’ podcast, noting that the scale of the story required this expansive approach. The upcoming books feature cryptic teasers, such as ‘What was broken will be remade’ and ‘What was lost will be reclaimed’.
