Sarah Nyarko named captain of Ghana's Black Princesses
Sarah Nyarko, a midfielder for Dreamz Ladies, has been named captain of Ghana's Black Princesses for the FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup. Her appointment by Head Coach Charles Sampson and the technical team follows her participation in every qualifying match during the team's journey to the tournament.
Supporting Nyarko in the leadership group are Diana Amoako, who will serve as first vice-captain, and Esther Asamoah of Army Ladies, who will act as second vice-captain. This marks the eighth consecutive appearance for the Black Princesses at this biennial global competition.
Ghana is scheduled to begin their group stage campaign against Ecuador on 6 September 2026. Their remaining group fixtures include matches against the Korea Republic and France.
