Sarah Paulson to portray Aileen Wuornos in Netflix's Monster series

Netflix has released a trailer for the fourth season of Ryan Murphy and Ian Brennan’s true crime anthology series, ‘Monster: The Lizzie Borden Story’. The trailer features a significant transformation for actress Sarah Paulson, who will portray serial killer Aileen Wuornos.

While the season focuses on Lizzie Borden, who was accused of murdering her parents in 1892, the inclusion of Wuornos—whose crimes occurred in the late 1980s—has caused some confusion. Actress Ella Beatty, who plays Borden, explained that the show aims to explore a ‘legacy of female rage’ and how different circumstances lead to extreme reactions, creating a thematic connection between the two women rather than a historical one.

The series is set to continue on Netflix on September 17.
