Sarah Sjöström returns to Paris EM as Swedish football sees IFK Göteborg victory

Swedish swimmer Sarah Sjöström has returned to major competition at the European Championships in Paris. Competing nearly a year after becoming a mother, Sjöström is a favorite in the 50m butterfly and 50m freestyle events. She noted that her return to this level feels "fantastic" and expressed a positive outlook despite needing time to regain her competitive rhythm.

In Swedish football, IFK Göteborg secured a 3–2 victory against Kalmar FF at Gamla Ullevi. Despite an early goal from Kalmar's Charlie Rosenqvist, Göteborg turned the match around with goals from David Kruse, Sam Larsson, and Alfons Borén. Kalmar's Charles Sagoe Jr. scored a late goal in the 84th minute, but it was not enough to force a draw.

Other football results include IF Elfsborg's women's team defeating Sandvikens IF 4–0, while the Elfsborg F19 side suffered a 6–1 loss to Enskede IK.
