Sarah Wiener shifts focus from politics back to culinary and foundation work
Sarah Wiener, a prominent German television chef and former politician, is shifting her focus away from large-scale politics. After serving in the European Parliament as an independent for the Austrian Greens since 2019, Wiener did not run for re-election in 2024.
During her tenure in the European Parliament, Wiener worked on the environment committee, where she attempted to negotiate a law for pesticide reduction. She described the experience as “disappointing,” noting that right-wing and far-right parties submitted hundreds of amendments that effectively “massacred” the legislative draft.
Wiener is now prioritizing her foundation, cooking, and spending time with her family. She is also returning to television, appearing as a nutrition expert on the ZDF special “Der Quiz-Champion - Das Österreich-Deutschland-Special” alongside Nelson Müller.
