Sarajevo Airport sees Ryanair suspend winter flights as travelers mock airport hassles

Ryanair announced that it will not operate any winter 2025/26 flights from Sarajevo, ending a season that saw 1,002 flights and nearly 191,000 seats. The airline plans a major expansion for the summer 2027 schedule, targeting up to 425,000 seats on a record number of routes and promising new jobs and increased tourism for Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Meanwhile, a social‑media personality from Zenica, Hrustić Sefedin‑Hugo, posted a candid account of his experiences at Sarajevo International Airport. He described the high cost of airport food – a croissant for 5 KM and coffee for 7 KM – and the confusing signage that left him feeling “like he fell from Mars.” His story highlighted passenger frustrations with pricing and navigation at the airport.
