Sarajevo Canton civil servants demand salary negotiations

The Independent Union of Civil Servants and Employees of Sarajevo Canton has formally requested that the Sarajevo Canton Government open negotiations regarding the salary calculation base for the year 2027.

The union criticized the current practice of the government adopting the draft budget before engaging in social dialogue with unions. They argued that this approach reduces the negotiation process to a mere formality and prevents effective budget planning that meets employee needs. The union is seeking to ensure that funds for salaries and other material rights are included in the 2027 budget proposal in a timely manner.
