Sarajevo Canton police debut first helicopter unit pilots

The first generation of pilots for the newly formed Helicopter Unit of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Sarajevo Canton (MUP KS) has completed their training. The group, including Adnan Salihagić, Kerim Habibović, Fuad Brčić, and Amir Bajrović, underwent two years of instruction, including over 200 flight hours and training in Montenegro and the United States.

The pilots are trained as co-pilots for the Bell 412 EPX aircraft. Their responsibilities will include police interventions, search and rescue operations, medical evacuations, and firefighting, often in demanding terrain and time-sensitive situations. The training emphasized the unique challenges of police aviation, which requires rapid responses to sudden tasks and unpredictable flight conditions compared to civilian aviation.
