Sarajevo police detain five suspects in 'Catering' extortion and bombing operation

In Sarajevo, a police operation codenamed ‘Catering’ has led to the arrest of several individuals, including Mirsad Mujkić, owner of the Nerro bakery. Mujkić is accused of organizing extortion, arson, and bomb attacks to influence a business tender worth approximately 170,000 KM for food services at a local primary school.

The prosecution alleges that Mujkić targeted Asim Kraljić, manager for singer Dino Merlin and owner of the Slatko i Slano bakery, using threatening messages and explosive devices. One specific incident involved a hand grenade that was frozen in ice and covered in salt to accelerate melting before detonation. Five suspects—Admir Arnautović, Anel Sejfović, Adnan Maglić, Mirsad Mujkić, and Hamza Asotić—have been ordered into one-month detention to prevent witness tampering or evidence destruction.

Other recent criminal developments in Bosnia and Herzegovina include the revocation of a previous verdict by the Supreme Court of Republika Srpska regarding a 2018 fatal fight between football fans in Bijeljina. Additionally, authorities in Bihać detained three individuals following a search that uncovered narcotics and ammunition, while a suspect in Mostar was detained for a series of vehicle thefts.
