Sarajevo Court orders Kenan Magoda to pay damages for defamation
The Sarajevo Municipal Court has issued a first-instance verdict in a defamation case involving Kenan Magoda and Ermin Čolpa. The court ruled that Magoda committed defamatory acts against Čolpa through content posted on his Facebook profile.
The disputed posts concerned the operations of the Football Federation of Sarajevo Canton and Čolpa’s role as the Federation's General Secretary. In his posts, Magoda alleged that Čolpa refused to certify documents requested by the Ministry of Justice, thereby endangering the legality and survival of the Federation. He further claimed that the Federation's seal had been turned into “private property” and accused Čolpa’s father, Fuad Čolpa, of “alienating the seal” to block the Federation's work. Magoda also characterized the situation as “organized obstruction, abuse of function, and an attempt to control the Football Federation of Sarajevo Canton.”
As a result of the ruling, Magoda is ordered to pay Čolpa 3,000 KM in non-material damages for defamation, plus legal interest starting from January 24, 2026. He is also required to pay 700 KM in legal costs and must publish the verdict on his Facebook profile.
