Sarajevo Film Festival hosts initiatives to boost regional cinematic cooperation

During the Sarajevo Film Festival, several initiatives were launched to strengthen cinematic and cultural ties between the Western Balkans and Europe. The European Union’s ‘EU With YOU’ program focused on supporting creative industries, aiming to connect regional filmmakers and professionals with European funds and networks. The program emphasized film as a bridge for regional stories to reach international audiences.

In a separate development facilitated by the Italian Embassy in Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Picentia Short Film Festival and the Silverframe Film Festival signed a Memorandum of Understanding. This agreement establishes a cultural bridge between Italy and Bosnia and Herzegovina, focusing on training, workshops, masterclasses, and the promotion of young filmmakers. The partnership includes exchange programs and special screenings to foster international cooperation and professional development for new creative generations.
