Sarajevo Film Festival readies August program without fireworks

The Sarajevo Film Festival (SFF) will run from 14 to 21 August, presenting more than 250 films from around the world. Around 3 000 film professionals are expected to participate, reinforcing the festival’s role as a leading cultural and tourist event in the region.

Organizers confirmed full operational readiness of municipal services, including utilities, emergency response, safety and traffic management. The event will take place at venues across the city such as the City Hall, National Theatre, Marijin Dvor and other public spaces. Government bodies and public enterprises are providing institutional support, and the festival will continue its environmental policy by omitting fireworks this year.

Festival director Jovan Marjanović expressed confidence that the program will attract audiences and further strengthen Sarajevo’s reputation on the international stage.
