Sarajevo hosts 30th Open RTC Barcelona 1899 junior tennis tournament

The 30th edition of the Open RTC Barcelona 1899 – Sarajevo 2026, a premier Tennis Europe U-16 tournament, has concluded in Sarajevo. The event featured approximately 90 competitors from 25 European countries, as well as participants from the United States and Israel.

In the boys' category, Igor Perić claimed the title, while Zana Perić won the girls' competition. Sarajevo Canton Prime Minister Nihad Uk attended the trophy ceremony, emphasizing the tournament's role in positioning Sarajevo on the European junior tennis scene.

Local talent also saw significant progress during the tournament. Bosnian player Adi Džinđovski reached the semifinals after defeating Serbia's Luka Kostić, earning a chance to play for the final against Poland's Mikolaj Solarz. Additionally, Mahir Butković reached the semifinals, setting the stage for a potential all-Bosnian final.
