Sarajevo human safari investigation explores potential links to Barcelona agencies
An investigation by the Milan Prosecutor's Office is examining allegations of ‘human safaris’ that occurred during the Siege of Sarajevo between 1992 and 1995. These reports suggest that wealthy tourists paid tens of thousands of euros to act as snipers and shoot civilians during the Bosnian War.
Italian journalist Ezio Gavazzeni, author of the book ‘Safaris humanos’, has highlighted potential links to Barcelona. According to a witness identified as ‘Toni C.’, a Catalan agency that organized African safaris may have also facilitated these macabre trips to Yugoslavia. Gavazzeni notes that while he is not making direct accusations, the connection to Barcelona-based agencies used for hunting trips warrants further investigation.
While the investigation is ongoing, some commentators have cautioned against sensationalist media coverage. Critics point out that much of the current reporting relies on indirect testimonies and lacks definitive physical evidence, such as confessions or direct photographic proof, despite the gravity of the allegations.
