Sarajevo marathon prompts temporary traffic changes on July 12

The ninth edition of the Imlek Impact Sarajevo marathon is scheduled for Sunday, 12 July. The race will start at 20:30 from the parking area of the Olympic arena Zetra and follow a route that includes Alipašina street, Maršala Tita, Vrbanja, Vilsonovo šetalište, Topal Osman‑paše, Patriotske lige, Jezero and Betanija before returning to the Zetra finish.

To accommodate more than 800 runners from numerous countries, municipal authorities will close the listed streets in stages from 19:45 to 22:15. Police officers from the Sarajevo Canton Ministry of Interior will be positioned at key points to regulate traffic and restore normal flow immediately after the last participants cross the finish line. Organisers ask pedestrians to stay on sidewalks, especially on Vilsonovo šetalište, for safety. The event also partners with the "Stariji brat, starija sestra" foundation for humanitarian activities.
