Sarajevo municipalities improve sports facilities with new turf and rehabilitation pools

The Centar municipality of Sarajevo completed the replacement of artificial turf on the auxiliary field of the Asim Ferhatović Hase stadium, enhancing training conditions for youth and local sports clubs. The project, costing 419,262 convertible marks (KM), was funded jointly by the Canton Sarajevo Ministry of Culture and Sport (240,000 KM) and the municipality (179,262 KM).

The Novi Grad municipality launched a free sports‑rehabilitation program for about 400 war veterans, disabled veterans and former camp inmates. The program uses the Olympic Pool Otoka and the open‑air pool in Dobrinja, with a 2026 budget of 45,000 KM (35,000 KM for Otoka and 15,000 KM for Dobrinja). It was signed by assistant mayor Tahir Mašić and the directors of the two pool facilities, aiming to improve physical and mental health of the participants.
