Sarajevo museums to receive 160,000 KM for upgrades

Nasiha Pozder, the Federal Minister of Environment and Tourism, has announced an investment of 160,000 KM to support cultural and tourism infrastructure in Sarajevo. The funds are directed toward two major institutions: the National Museum of Bosnia and Herzegovina (Zemaljski Muzej) and the Historical Museum of Bosnia and Herzegovina (Historijski Muzej BiH).

Specifically, 100,000 KM has been allocated to the National Museum for the second phase of landscaping the southern part of its Botanical Garden, which includes the installation of external lighting and necessary electrical and construction works. An additional 60,000 KM is designated for the restoration of the Historical Museum building, with professional supervision provided by the Municipality of Novo Sarajevo.

Minister Pozder described the area housing these institutions as a “museum quarter” that serves as a vital hub for culture, knowledge, and history. She emphasized that these investments are intended to enhance Sarajevo’s tourism potential by making cultural sites more accessible and attractive to both citizens and visitors.
