According to the UK Postal Service’s Urban Price Barometer, Sarajevo, the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina, has been named the best affordable city break in Europe for 2026. The city is noted for its low costs regarding accommodation, public transport, tourist attractions, and dining.

Other highly affordable European destinations for various traveler types include the Czech Republic, Bulgaria, North Macedonia, Albania, and Poland. While popular destinations like Spain, Italy, and Greece remain major tourist hubs, they generally command higher prices compared to these Eastern and Balkan options.
